Description
Apartment (45 m2) within a villa but with separate entrance and situated on the coastal road entering Maratea; a newly-built house less than 1 km from the seaside (0,500 km as the crow flies). The house offer a splendid view of the sea and of the hill with the ruins of an ancient castle in the background . The coastal road passes in front of the house, but the bedroom overlooks the sea. Parking in the street or in a car park near the house. There are restaurants less than 0,500 km from the house and horse riding.

Ground floor: access through an equipped and shaded courtyard with a little garden; entrance/open area that communicates with the living room with kitchenette ( gas cooker and freezer) and a single bed ( as a divan during the day) , 1 double/triple bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower. Central heating with hot water production. Simple but new furniture. ( see plant)
to be visited
The historic centre, the ruins of the ancient town located on a cliff rising straight up from the sea , with the famous Christ statue, the tourist port (various shops everywhere). There are a lot of various beaches with sandy and pebble where you can hire beach umbrellas, deck-chairs and boats. Possibility of taking walks along pathways that follow the cliffside over the sea and that lead to the small bay surrounded by pine groves. All sorts of excursions are available, including sailing, white water rafting and even a night fishing trip. You can take a drive along the coast to Porto di Maratea and then to Acquafredda, enjoying panoramic views over the sea and the coastline. Or you can drive to the pretty unspoilt towns of Rivello and Trecchina to explore, and the Certosa at Padula as well as Pertosa’s grottos is well worth a visit (one day excursion). If you like to be at one with nature, you might like to go for a long walk following one of the paths in the Pollino National Park, where the scenery is magnificent. Other well-know sites like MATERA’s Sassi,Tavole Palatine in Metaponto and Paestum are not so far from the house ( 2 hours by the car).

by car :The house is situated 15 minutes from the "LAGONEGRO NORD " exit on the SALERNO-REGGIO C. motorways ;
by train: 10 minutes from the main railroad station "MARATEA"; stopping all the trains from Milan, Turin, Genoa, Florence , Bologna, Rome, Naples;
by air: Naples Apt. (2,30 hours by car) or Lametia T. Apt. (2 hours by car).
Distances : 780 km from Bologna, 680 km from Florence , 400 km from Rome
